Responsible Investment Dialogues #2 – Aligning investments with the Paris Agreement

26. februar 2020 @ 9:00 - 12:00

About Responsible Investment Dialogues: DIEH and Dansif are organising a series of meetings under the headline “Responsible Investment Dialogues”. The purpose is to promote responsible investment through dialogue, debate and exchange of experiences and best practices on specific themes. “Responsible Investment Dialogues” gathers investors, companies, NGOs and other relevant parties to get in depth with selected issues through deep-dives and identifying concrete solutions to complex challenges.

Note: The meeting is reserved for members of DIEH and Dansif as well as selected stakeholders.

Background for the meeting:
The financial sector has an important role to play in achieving the globally agreed ambition to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, and an increasing number of investors are committed to low carbon investment aligned with the Paris Agreement.
Amongst motivating factors are the recognition of climate change as a major systemic risk and adjustment to expected market changes, but also pressure from consumers, citizens and politicians for investors to be one of the drivers in the needed transition of the economy as well as the ethical question of profiting on business that adversely affect current and future living conditions.
As the pathway for climate transition is not yet clear in its details, it is still an unresolved challenge to decide on strategies for aligning portfolios to the Paris Agreement. At this meeting, we delve into discussions on assessment methods and criteria and requirements for companies and actions to be taken by investors for a timely transition.
